Over at Club Street, second hand dealers are strewn all over. I vividly remember this 50+ ragged Chinese man who peddled stacks Bank of China envelopes. I reckon he either salvaged them from the garbage or he had links to the office mail room or pantry aunties. These late 80s envelopes were franked with Chinese definitives or TAXE PERCUE octagonal handstamps, and cost 50c a piece.
I would spend $10+ each round. Now where did I get all that money week in and week out? Hmm…. .
